Sports Foundation

Ipswich Sports Foundation has one clear aim – to raise money to support talented local sportsmen and women, both able bodied and disabled.

Unfortunately our future champions, the young talents of today who have the potential to become Olympic stars in London 2012 and beyond, often miss out on grants. This is because the majority of public funding goes to established sportsmen and women who are already competing nationally and internationally.

Grants from Ipswich Sports Foundation have already supported talented local girls and boys in the costs associated with training and competing at a high level.

The money is being raised through high profile Team Ipswich business fund-raising events attended by sporting celebrities such as Steve Cram MBE and Sharron Davies MBE and through donations from local businesses. See how your business can become a sponsor of Team Ipswich and enjoy the benefits of association with one of the most exciting campaigns in the Ipswich community.

"Sadly there are many talented people throughout the country who miss the opportunity to excel in their chosen sport due to the unavoidable costs of things like equipment, coaching, travel and access to facilities. Initiatives such as the Ipswich Sports Foundation can make a real difference to these people and with it sport in the country. I support Ipswich Sports Foundation wholeheartedly and everything it is trying to achieve."
