Pools Refurbishment

Phase 1 of the £3.5million Crown Pools refurbishment programme is nearing completion.  

There is now a new look reception area and village style changing area, both of which have air conditioning to provide a more comfortable and pleasant environment.
These areas are now re-open to the public.

The refurbishment has provided:

• New male and female group changing rooms;
• Bigger toilet areas;
• Communal and private showering areas;
• Three family/disabled changing rooms;
• Six larger cubicles for parents and children;
• Vanity area with mirrors and hairdryers;
• New lockers;
• New people drier.

As part of Phase 1, the Profiles Fitness Studio at Crown Pools is being extended to enable more customers to use the gym at busy times.

In addition, work has been carried out in the plant rooms:

• Installation of new pool chemical covers;
• New tanks for the storage of chemicals;
• A third new, more efficient boiler.

Phase 2 of the work is scheduled to start in 2011 and will include refurbishment of the pool halls, air conditioning and lighting work on the roof.
