Outdoor courts available at:

• Gainsborough Sports Centre;
• Maidenhall Sports Centre;
• Northgate Sports Centre.

Courts can be booked with an I-card up to 7 days in advance - you can book online, by phone or at the centres. 

More outdoor courts are also available in two of our parks:

• Christchurch Park;
• Gippeswyk Park.

There is no need to book, just turn up and play!

Indoor mini tennis courts are available at:

• Gainsborough Sports Centre;
• Maidenhall Sports Centre;
• Northgate Sports Centre;
• Whitton Sports Centre.

Junior coaching

Mini Tennis is an excellent start and introduction to tennis. It is a modified version of the game using small sized rackets and special balls which ensures that children experience success and the excitement of the game.

You can leave your child with confidence with the experienced coaches at Copleston and Holywells Community Tennis Club, one of Suffolk's top accredited LTA Mini Tennis Centres. Junior course at Northgate sports centre

This exciting new Junior Tennis Course is run in association with Ipswich Sports Club. The course covers all the basic skills in a fun way for children aged 4-9 years and offers an excellent introduction to the sport whilst developing movement, co-ordination and racket skills. Team Ipswich Parks Tennis Tournament

The Team Ipswich Junior Parks Tennis Tournament is an annual summer event, set in the beautiful surroundings of Christchurch Park. Organised and run by the Team Ipswich sports development unit at the Borough Council, the emphasis of this tournament is definitely on fun. The main aim of the tournament is to encourage young people to take part in more sport and it is aimed in particular at people who might not have had the opportunity to take part in an organised sports programme before.
