Ever dreamed of being a genius on the football pitch? Now is your chance.
This year the Suffolk FA and Team Ipswich have joined forces to present a superb opportunity for girls in years 4, 5 and 6 who want to learn and develop new football and team skills. The Girls' Soccer Centre, which is being hosted on the Astro pitch at Gainsborough Sports and Community Centre is designed to provide girls with the opportunity to receive professional coaching, in an all girl environment.
Head Coach Terry Charles commented: "The sessions will be fun based, which is very important. From that initial fun factor the girls football skills will be developed. I am sure they will have a great time."
The course runs for 10 weeks beginning Thursday 20th April - 29th June. Sessions will run from 4.30 - 6pm. and costs just £10.
Kate Steed, Suffolk FA Girls’ Football Development Officer, added: "we hope to be able to give girls’ the chance to get involved and have a go at football. With the number of teams growing in the county all the time there are now increasing opportunities for female players to take their interest further at a local club, which hopefully some of the players that attend the soccer centre will do."
If you would like to be part of the two million soccer girls in the country, application forms can be obtained from any Ipswich Borough Council sport centre or by contacting Team Ipswich on 01473 433542.
