New Boxing Development Officer post advertised

The Amateur Boxing Association of England in partnership with Catch 22/Positive Futures in Suffolk, Ipswich Council and Suffolk Sport are seeking to appoint a part time Boxing Development Officer.

Contract: Fixed term contract until March 2013 (subject to annual funding)
Hours: Part time (18 hours per week)
Salary: £25,000 pro rata
Base: St Edmunds House, Rope Walk, Ipswich

This post will cover the County of Suffolk. The Officer will work in partnership with numerous bodies, including the Eastern Counties Amateur Boxing Association, the voluntary sector, local authorities, School Sports Partnerships and Further and Higher Education establishments, to develop amateur boxing that makes a difference to local communities.

The Officer will require analytical skills to assess current provision and a strategic vision to establish a Suffolk Boxing Development Plan in line with the ABAE's Whole Sport Plan; to grow the sport, improve satisfaction levels which will sustain membership levels and enhance opportunities that enable excellence.

A key feature of this role will be providing developmental support to community amateur boxing clubs and working in partnership to establish, implement and review programmes and projects in line with the development plan. This will include accessing and managing funding.

For this exciting post, we are seeking a committed and passionate individual with experience and a proven track record in developing sport and project management. The successful candidate will have an understanding of how to support the voluntary sports sector and take a solution based approach to breaking down barriers for the wider community.
