Ipswich Sports Ambassador Karen Pickering, MBE, has backed Ipswich Borough Council's campaign for Unitary Status.

Team Ipswich, the Borough Council led campaign to promote sport in Ipswich, is busy putting together a fabulous programme of activity for this years Suffolk Show.

The race is underway to recruit young sportsmen and women to represent Team Ipswich in the 2007 Redrow Homes Suffolk Youth Games to be held in Bury St Edmunds on Sunday 8th July.

Six swimmers from the Team Ipswich Disability Swim Squad have achieved qualifying times for the DSE (Disability Sport Events) National Junior Swimming Championships 2007.

In less than 10 months the Team Ipswich Disability Swim Squad has grown by five hundred percent, 6 swimmers have achieved national qualifying times and the number of teachers/helpers has increased four fold.
