Team Ipswich Community Basketball Project

The Ipswich Community Basketball Project is a partnership between: Department for Culture Media & Sport, England Basketball, Ipswich Basketball Club, Team Ipswich, Sport England, Suffolk Basketball, Suffolk Sport and Westbourne High School.

The project, lead by England Junior Coach Nick Drane, is aimed at involving more and more young people from Ipswich in basketball. Children attend curriculum time sessions as part of their PE lessons. In addition after school clubs have been developed in a number of schools catering for those youngsters who want to take their interest in the sport to a competitive level and represent their school in competitions.

An elite development squad has also been developed to give additional coaching to those individuals that show real potential. The Community Basketball Project also runs a series of basketball camps throughout all school holidays providing opportunities for children of all abilities.
