Suffolk Youth Games

Established in 2000, the Suffolk Youth Games is an annual sporting competition between the seven Districts of Suffolk in a range of sports.

The Games is part of the Sport England Active Sports programme being delivered by Suffolk Sport and is the largest multi-sport festival for young people in the county involving over 800 young people. Medals are awarded to teams finishing first, second and third in each competition and the district with the greatest number of points accumulated across all sports is awarded the title of 'Suffolk Champions'.

A Fair Play Award is presented annually to the district that receives the highest number of 'Fair Play' nominations from the 'Sports Coordinators' and referees. As well as the chance to compete, there is also the opportunity to try a range of demonstration sports and have your face painted in your team colours.

Each year Team Ipswich is involved in the recruitment and training of teams to represent Ipswich in the Suffolk Youth Games. In the lead up to the Games, Team Ipswich organises trials and/or squad training in each of the featured sports.
