Positive Futures

Positive Futures is a national sports-based social inclusion programme that uses sport as a tool to engage with young people at street level. It aims to build self-esteem, develop social skills and encourage regular participation in sport and physical activity.

In Suffolk, 13 wards have been chosen to host the project with seven of these being in Ipswich. Launched in December 2002, the local programme works closely with the Suffolk Youth Offending Service and Team Ipswich. Other partners include Sport England, Ipswich Town FC, Suffolk Constabulary & Suffolk Drug Action Team.
