Team Ipswich Community

Team Ipswich is creating opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to take part in recreation and community sport, encouraging healthy living, helping people feel fitter and diverting young people away from anti-social behaviour. Young people and their families have the chance to try new sports and access coaching to improve their skills and fitness.

To make sporting opportunities more widely available, Team Ipswich is working with Sport England, the Government’s national sports body. The campaign is putting Ipswich on the map for major sports initiatives and national events.

There’s also a growing number of local initiatives – see below for further details.

The Team Ipswich Junior Parks Tennis Tournament provides a fantastic opportunity for developing young tennis players to sample the thrill of playing in an organised tournament.

The Sport for All in the Indian Community project aims to improve the health and well being of members of the Ipswich Indian community by encouraging greater participation in sports and other physical activities.

Ipswich Gets Fit (IGF) was a two stranded activity campaign that ran throughout the summer of 2006.  It was designed to promote and reinforce Sport England's Every Day Sport message.  With a view to raising participation levels in moderate activity for at least 30 minutes each day, IGF tackled the corporate market as well as the general public.
