Small Grants Scheme

Sports clubs, individuals and organisations are invited to apply for a cash boost from Team Ipswich of between £200 and £500.

Projects that can apply for the Small Grant have to meet one of the below criteria:

  • New community event to encourage increased participation in sport;
  • New school / club links programme;
  • New holiday activity delivered to the community;
  • New coach development programme;
  • New initiative to increase volunteers in sport;
  • New initiative to increase club membership;
  • Celebrate and contribute to Ipswich’s legacy around the 2012 London Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Application forms are available to download at the bottom of the page or to receive a paper copy, telephone: 01473 433513.

The small revenue grants are inclusive and support more opportunities for all in sport. They are available for a wider range of organisations and this year there is a larger fund available, thanks to the support of Team Ipswich partner Free Rein.

Councillor Judy Terry, Ipswich Borough Council’s Arts, Culture & Leisure portfolio-holder, said: “We want to help a wider range of clubs and individuals to increase opportunities right across the sporting spectrum. We are committed to developing sport in Ipswich and are grateful to Free Rein for backing the scheme.”

If your club, group or organisation is looking to extend or introduce sporting opportunities and meets the criteria detailed on the form, please complete the brief application and return it with the requested evidence by 31st December. A grants panel will assess submitted applications and successful applicants can expect to receive their cheque at a presentation evening on 28th January.
